During an appearance on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show,” Gwen Stefani opened up about her intimate marriage to Blake Shelton.
On being asked why she did not invite DeGeneres to the wedding in July 2021 despite having jokingly asked her a few months earlier to be the Maid of Honor, the singer explained that the wedding became a smaller affair due to COVID-19.
“It got really small. I had this fantasy of building bleachers, but it just got smaller and smaller.and the Lord works in mysterious ways,” Stefani shared.
“It was like the perfect amount of people. It was so intimate, it was so exactly what it needed to be. And not just the wedding, but the marriage is so fun and I’m so into it and I feel very blessed,” she added. “Shelton’s my best friend.”
Stefani, who shared the family’s gardening plans, said Shelton is “literally on the tractor right now turning dirt for me. When we do things, we go big, and we’re doing major gardening. We’re talking daffodils, we’re talking about tulips. We already did the bulbs. We’re doing wildflower seeds, now we’re doing zinnias. So, I sent him home to figure out how to till all the land and dig a well. He’s working on the well digging today.”
