Taylor Swift Speaks About ‘All Too Well’ At Tribeca

Taylor Swift made a public appearance at the Tribeca Film Festival on Saturday and discussed her short film “All Too Well” with the indie director Mike Mills.

Swift spoke with Mills for nearly an hour at New York’s Beacon Theatre, providing details about the 10-minute long film’s creative process.

The superstar revealed how her filmmaking has been influenced by John Cassavetes and Barbara Stanwyck. Swift and Mills also talked about the challenges faced by female directors.

She also screened the film and brought out Sadie Sink and Dylan O’Brien, who play the main couple in “All Too Well.” Further, she ended with a solo acoustic performance of “All Too Well.”

“This is not a music video,” she explained about her directorial project. “We approached everything differently.”

In the kitchen scene, she said, “I wanted to be so close we could count freckles.”

She revealed that she got interested in filmmaking on the sets of her music videos. “It started with meddling,” she said jokingly. “Once I started directing music videos, I didn’t want to not do it.”
