CMT Music Awards Weekend To Feature Little Big Town, Nickelback & Hardy Specials

CMT recently revealed new programming for its CMT Music Awards weekend ahead of the awards show at the Moody Center in Austin, Texas, on April 7.

CMT Music Awards Weekend will kick off on April 5 with “CMT Storytellers: Little Big Town.” The Grammy-winning group Little Big Town headlines the latest installment of the renowned music series.

Karen Fairchild, Kimberly Schlapman, Phillip Sweet and Jimi Westbrook will play some of their critically acclaimed hits, including “Better Man,” “Boondocks,” “Rich Man” and “Girl Crush.”

On April 6, there will be a special “CMT HOT 20 COUNTDOWN: 2024 CMT Music Awards Preview” in the morning. Cody Alan, Carissa Culiner and Marley Sherwood host a special episode of CMT‘s signature weekend countdown featuring a look at this year’s star-packed list of nominees. Hot20 will be broadcast from Austin’s Moody Center, featuring last minute rehearsals and interviews with all the big nominees.

Nickelback and Hardy team up for a special CMT Crossroads that night, swapping stories and collaborating on each other’s biggest songs, including can’t-miss performances of Nickelback’s “Save Me” and ‘Animals,” Hardy’s “Truck Bed” and “Give Heaven Some Hell” plus a first-time mashup of both “Rockstar” singles.

CMT Music Awards red carpet coverage begins at 6 p.m. CT on April 7. Hosts Alan, Culiner and Sherwood will welcome a steady stream of music’s biggest names as they hit the Red Carpet LIVE on CMT. Rising hitmaker Warren Zeiders will kick off the show with a performance of his hit song “Pretty Little Poison.”

Kelsea Ballerini will return to host the 2024 CMT Music Awards night, which will air live from 8 PM, ET, on CBS.

All shows besides the CMT Music Awards will air on CMT.
