Paramount+ and MTV Entertainment Studios announced that country music star couple Faith Hill and Tim McGraw will star in the upcoming “Yellowstone” prequel series, “1883.”
In an Instagram post on Wednesday, Hill said she will be playing Margaret Dutton, the original matriarch of the Dutton family in the prequel. McGraw will play the family patriarch, James Dutton.
“Just wait, you have never seen anything like this!” an excited Faith Hill said.
“It’s going to be a fantastic family saga about the original Duttons and their journey to Montana and how they founded the ranch up there,” McGraw said.
They are cast alongside Oscar nominee Sam Elliott, who plays the role of Shea Brennan, a tough cowboy with a painful past.
“It is a stark retelling of Western expansion, and an intense study of one family fleeing poverty to seek a better future in America’s promised land – Montana,” according to the official description of the prequel.
