Jelly Roll has announced that his new album, Whitsitt Chapel, will be released via BMG/Stoney Creek Records on June 2.
The 13-track album is named after the church the Antioch-native grew up attending in Nashville, Tennessee.
Earlier this week, Jelly Roll teased the album on social media with images of Whitsitt Chapel’s outdoor sign featuring lyrics from the upcoming tracks.
“This album is about growth and gratitude happening in my life. I wanted to create a project that felt hopeful,” Roll said in a press release. “I believe the worst feeling a person can have is feeling hopeless or worthless.”
“This is therapeutic music. Real music for real people with real problems,” added the rapper-turned-country music star.
Roll, who was named one of CRS New Faces at the 2023 Country Radio Seminar, will embark on a 44-date Backroad Baptism Tour in July.
“Son of a Sinner,” the second single from Jelly Roll’s 2021 album Ballads of the Broken, scored the first country No. 1 in his career.
