Johnny Cash’s Longtime Manager Lou Robin Dead At 90

Pioneering concert promoter and Johnny Cash‘s longtime manager Lou Robin passed away on May 18. He was 90.

“It is with deep sadness and respect that we mark the passing of music industry legend, Lou Robin, at 90,” the Johnny Cash estate said in a statement. “Lou had an amazing 30-year run personally managing Johnny Cash and June Carter Cash from 1973 until their passing in 2003.”

“The friendship and relationships he and his wife, Karen Wilder Robin, had with the whole Cash family were cherished,” the statement added. “Our thoughts are with his sons, Michael and Steve Robin, and their families.”

During a career lasting over six decades, Robin produced or promoted more than 4,000 concerts through Artist Consultants Productions, the company he co-founded with college friend Allen Tinkley.

Robin promoted shows for iconic acts like The Beatles, The Rolling Stones and Stevie Wonder. However, he was Cash’s personal manager for three decades.
