Kelly Clarkson Covers Depeche Mode’s ‘Enjoy The Silence’

Kelly Clarkson covered Depeche Mode‘s 1990 hit single “Enjoy the Silence” during the “Kellyoke” segment of her talk show on Monday, September 27.

“All I ever wanted/ All I ever needed/ Is here in my arms/ Words are very unnecessary/ They can only do harm,” Clarkson crooned while wearing a zebra-print dress accompanied by her band Y’all.

“Enjoy the Silence” was released as the second single from Depeche Mode’s seventh studio album, Violator. The song was a top 10 hit for the English electronic band, peaking at No. 8 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

The single is Gold certificated in the U.S. and Germany and won Best British Single at the 1991 Brit Awards.

Depeche Mode’s last full-length album was their 2017’s Spirit. Earlier this year, band member Martin Gore released a five-track solo EP titled The Third Chimpanzee.
