Kenny Chesney set a new record for the number of fans attending a music concert at Nashville’s Nissan Stadium.
The nearly three-hour concert, as part of Chesney’s Here and Now 2022 Tour, on Saturday hosted a 57,211 person Memorial Day Weekend audience.
They helped Chesney by singing extra choruses as he performed “American Kids,” “Young” and “Anything But Mine” at Music City’s riverside venue.
He also played hits such as “Beer In Mexico,” “Summertime,” “No Shoes, No Shirt, No Problems,” “Living In Fast Forward,” and “We Do.”
In the middle of the show, Chesney welcomed Kelsea Ballerini to the stage for a surprise performance of their chart-topping duet, “Half Of My Hometown.”
Chesney and Ballerini grew up in the same part of Tennessee, and the former seemed to get a bit emotional as he reflected on their musical journey.
“I grew up in East Tennessee and she grew up in East Tennessee. We drove down some of the same roads together,” Chesney said. “We went to a lot of the same places to eat with our families. We listened to the same radio station, and listened to a lot of people tell us we couldn’t do certain things that have dreamed of all our life.”
