Wynonna Judd is heading back to MTSU’s Murphy Center for a concert event, titled “The Judds: Love Is Alive – The Final Concert.”
Judd will recreate The Judds 1991 Farewell Tour for a special televised event that will be recorded on November 3 and air on CMT in March.
Wynonna’s current tourmates Ashley McBryde, Brandi Carlile, Kelsea Ballerini, Little Big Town and Martina McBride will share the bill that night for the first time. Additional special guests will be announced later.
A portion of proceeds from the ticket sale will benefit the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI), Tennessee.
Wynonna and her mother and duet partner Naomi Judd had their final show at MTSU’s Murphy Center more than three decades ago. The November event will kick off the venue’s year-long 50th-anniversary celebration.
“Stepping onstage at the Murphy Center for the first time since Dec. 4, 1991, will be so surreal for me,” Judd said. “It was an emotional night over 30 years ago and will be an emotional night for different reasons now. I can’t wait to lean into the nostalgia with the artists who have made this tour so special and recreate one of the most iconic nights in Judd ‘Herstory.”
Naomi Judd committed suicide in April.
