Country star Walker Hayes and his wife Laney recently renewed their wedding vows in a cute kitchen ceremony.
The couple, who have been married for over 18 years, “renewed” their vows in a small ceremony in their kitchen over the weekend, with help from their young daughter, Everly.
Everly, who served as the officiant for the ceremony, watched as Laney walked up to meet Hayes by the couple’s refrigerator, which served as an altar. Hayes sang the wedding march as Laney, wearing athletic shorts, a Walker Hayes t-shirt, and veil solemnly walked into the frame.
“You’re just as beautiful as you were when I dropped you off last night,” Hayes told his wife as he lifted the veil over her head. “That’s some veil you’ve got there.”
Everly held up a green and red striped napkin in front of her face and said, “You may kiss the bride.”
“This is exactly how we kissed the first time,” Hayes said as he leaned toward his wife and kissed her, while Laney wrapped her arms around his neck.
“Awww, romantic!!” Everly screams.
“We now pronounce you husband and wife,” Hayes said. “What do we do with the napkin?”
Everly then introduces a new tradition by instructing them to kiss it. “Kiss the napkin?!” Laney asked in response. “Is it dirty?” Hayes adds.
After making sure the napkin is clean, the couple give in to their daughter’s request by kissing it.
“Thank you very much. Thanks for coming to our wedding,” Hayes tells the camera at the end of the clip.
