Grammy Award-winning country superstar Wynonna Judd is set to host the “Christmas at the Opry” country music special, which will air on NBC on December 7th at 8 pm ET/PT.
A press release says the two-hour musical event will see artists perform Christmas favorites, holiday classics, and the latest big hits.
“Wynonna is one of the most recognized and lauded performers in country music,” said Cassandra Tryon, senior vice president of live events at NBCUniversal Entertainment. “Not only is she incredibly talented, her selflessness and passion for putting the needs of others in the spotlight is unmatched.”
She added, “We can’t think of a better person to honor as our inaugural ‘Country Champion’ and to celebrate the holidays with across these two major country music events.”
The People’s Choice Country Awards will air live on NBC and Peacock, while “Christmas at the Opry” will air on NBC and the next day on Peacock. Both events will originate from the Grand Ole Opry House in Nashville.
