Dolly Parton Recreates Playboy Cover Shoot For Husband’s 79th Birthday

Dolly Parton celebrated her husband Carl Dean‘s birthday on Tuesday (July 20) by recreating the iconic Playboy cover shoot she did for the magazine in 1978.

Addressing her fans on social media, Parton, wearing a black teddy, a pink bow tie and the trademark Playboy Bunny ears, said, “Today is July 20, it’s my husband Carl’s birthday and you’re probably wondering why I’m dressed like this. Remember some time back I said I was gonna pose on Playboy magazine when I’m 75? Well, I’m 75 and they don’t have a magazine anymore … but my husband always loved the original cover of Playboy.”

“I was trying to think of something to do to make him happy,” she added. “He still thinks I’m a hot chick after 57 years, and I’m not gonna try to talk him out of that.”

She captioned the post, “It’s always #HotGirlSummer for my husband, Carl. Happy birthday my love!”

Parton revealed that she even did a photoshoot in the Playboy Bunny outfit to surprise her husband. She notes that her appearance has changed since her original cover.

“In the first one, I was kind of a little butterball in that one. Well, I’m string cheese now,” she quipped. “But he’ll probably think I’m cream cheese, I hope.”

The visual ends with Patron presenting Dean with a side-by-side shot of the original cover and the new cover.

Parton and Carl Dean got married on May 30, 1966.
