Taylor Swift’s ‘1989 (Taylor’s Version)’ Tops Australian Albums Chart For Eighth Straight Week

Taylor Swift‘s 1989 (Taylor’s Version) has topped Australia’s ARIA Albums Chart for the eighth straight week.

1989 (Taylor’s Version) is now the longest running No. 1 album of 2023, moving ahead of Taylor’s own Midnights, which was on top for seven non-consecutive weeks between January and July.

A re-recording of Swift’s fifth studio album, 1989, released on October 27, 1989 (Taylor’s Version) concurrently holds the top spot on the Billboard 200.

Meanwhile, Violent Soho‘s Hungry Ghost re-entered the ARIA Albums Chart at No. 2. Michael Buble‘s Christmas bounced back to No. 4.

On the Singles Chart, Jack Harlow takes the honor of becoming the first new artist in six years on top during the Christmas week.

Harlow’s “Lovin On Me” holds at No. 1 for the sixth straight week. It ruined a potential six-year streak for Mariah Carey‘s “All I Want For Christmas Is You.” The Christmas hit, which has been at No. 1 during the last five Christmas weeks, came in at No. 2.

Including Mariah at No. 2, three of the top five are Christmas songs. Wham!‘s “Last Christmas” comes in at No. 4 and Brenda Lee‘s “Rockin’ Around The Christmas Tree” is ranked at No. 5.

Ariana Grande‘s “Santa Tell Me” and Michael Buble‘s “It’s Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas” step back into the top 10 at No. 7 and No. 10, respectively.
